Aguada Fort , Goa

This is one of the places in Goa I like to visit often...Fort is open for visitors till 5.30 pm....If u r visiting this fort ...do visit the other side of the fort too...that is towards the sea...it is a nice place to spend time especially evening time u can enjoy the sea view along with some cool breeze ...

It is a Portuguese fort built in 1612 to guard against Maratha and Dutch raiders...its name comes from the portuguese word meaning  water...It is a well preserved fort in Goa....during the Salazar rule it was reused as prison...its famous as Aguada jail...

Must see is the  four storey lighthouse which was built in 1864 and is the oldest in Asia.....
